Great Time to Hit Las Vegas
TripandTravelTips.com
2009 is shaping up to be an
extraordinary year for finally taking that trip to Las Vegas.
The economy is wreaking havoc on Sin
City. Hotel vacancy rates are up which means prices are down.
And it’s not just at your
run-of-the-mill, middle-of-the-road hotels either. The high-end
hotels are feeling the bite as well.
The real estate market has dropped 35%
and may go as low as 52% according to a recent article in the Las
Vegas Sun.
All of the gloom and doom, though,
means opportunity for the savvy traveler.
As of this writing, there is not a
single rack hotel room listed on Travelocity retailing for more than
$200 per night, not even in the five-star properties.
The Trump Hotel Las Vegas has dozens
of nights listed for $89. This is a five-star hotel! The other
five-star’s range in price from $149. to $199.
If you use
Priceline.com,
the price comes down ever more.
According to
Betterbidding.com, five-star
hotels start at $70 per night and go up to about $116 per night. The
Trump went for $70, and the Wynn and the Venetian went in the $95 to
$116 range.
If you drop down to four-star hotels,
the Suncoast Hotel and Casino leads the pack with five dates in
February going for $25 per night. New York, New York and the MGM
both have dozens of nights starting at $80.
Believe it or not, there are
techniques to get these prices even lower. If you do decide to plan

The discounts don’t stop at hotel
rooms either.
Lower vacancy rates in hotels means
less customers for the shows. Many show tickets can be purchased at
a discounted price. Ticket discounters like
Tix
4 Tonight are offering some great deals too.
If you can find good airfare, Las
Vegas is calling.
Good Travelin!
